Rice Cereal

So last night while Devin and I were eating dinner (hamburger helper) Caleb would not stop reaching for our plates and watching as we took bites to our mouths...So I mixed up about a teaspoon of very thin rice cereal while Devin took Caleb's onesie off and we let him try it out. I am not sure he knew what to think about this new method of eating, but I do know that after he was done eating and we had him cleaned up he was on a laughing spree, more of a vigorous kicking and shrieking sort of thing which his parents know means he is delighted. I tried to get a video, but the camera is out of batteries !!! eeeek!! oh no! MUST GET MORE BEFORE TONIGHT !!!

Today

Caleb has always been fascinated with this Winnie the Pooh wipes container. Before he could reach around he would just stare at it, and now that he can reach and play he likes to push it and try to figure it out. Who knew that the wipes container would be one of his favorite things. To add to that, just last night I was telling Devin that I have never had Caleb fall asleep while laying on a blanket on the floor. Well after taking the above wipes video I talked to my mom on the phone, then I left Caleb to play on his blanket while I ran to the bathroom. Below is what I came back to...I knew that he was tired, it was after all time for his morning nap, but I guess I should never say never.

Thing 1 and Thing 2

Last Wednesday my sister-in-law Cassy and I made Dr. Seuss's Thing 1 and Thing 2 costumes. I was planning on making them for Devin and I and she happened to be planning to make them for herself and Todd. Then the sunday before I asked my other sister-in-law if I could make them for her twin 3 year olds as well. Needless to say we made three pairs of Thing 1 and 2s on Wednesday. They turned out so cute! I can wait for Halloween so that we can wear them!

I think that this is the perfect costume for three-year-old twin boys! don't they look great!!! Now if I could only find some blue wigs...

Bear World

Yesterday Caleb and I got to go to Bear World with Mom and Trevor. (Devin was on a field trip for one of his classes.) We had so much fun! Mom has been working at Bear World through this last summer so she was able to tell me all sorts of interesting things about what we were seeing and doing. There is so much to tell, so I will stick to the highlights of the afternoon: Feeding the bears (they ate bread and donettes, even Caleb threw them some bread), Bear Fries, I GOT TO FEED A BABY BEAR!!!!, building our own bear (for Caleb for Christmas), petting zoo with a pig, deer, chickens, goats, etc. There is so much more, but maybe the pictures can tell it better than me!
Caleb and I got the royal treatment since we were with staff, we were given the curator tour (where you get to feed the big bears) for free, pictures of us together on the tour and 'on' a bear, and we got into the park for free. It was fun to be with Mom and Trevor who knew the names of several of the animals. Since Mom has been working in the gift shop she got to build the bear for us, so that was fun too. I got to see Moose, fox, Bear, Elk, Deer, Mountain Goats, and so much more. What a day!

Before

I was at the DI yesterday looking for one of those high chairs that you put on a normal chair...you know that kind? and instead I found this high chair. I became all excited because this one I am going to sand and paint and it is going to be super super cute!!! It is missing a couple of screws, but my sweetheart can fix that easy! can you tell I am excited about this! When I am done I will post an 'After' picture, and hopefully it will be as cute as the one I have in my imaginings...

Yesterday evening Mom and Trevor surprised us and they came for dinner. While the potatoes were in the oven they helped me paint my little pumpkin family. I painted the mommy pumpkin, Trevor painted the Devin pumpkin, and Mom did the Caleb pumpkin. Aren't we so festive?

Pooh Bear

Caleb loves this Winnie the Pooh toy that he has, I think that it is really the soft texture that he likes. He also likes fleece or soft blankies, another little bear toy that he has, and the taggies that I made yesterday all of which are soft to the touch. I think that it is so cute the way he stuffs the hand or the ear or the nose into his mouth.

Taggies

Here is a video of Caleb--because my mom specially asked for one.

I made this little taggies toy by making my own tags out of ribbon around two squares of fabric.

Growing

Yesterday was our four month well-baby visit...Caleb is now 11 lb. 14 oz. and 24 in. tall. He is growing great and everything looks good. What a cutie he is!!

Today while Caleb was playing with our friends (and babysitters) he was placed in what Emily and Stephanie called his throne. I thought that it was cute! Emily and Stephanie, their mom and brothers are the family that I have been working for for over two years. Now I babysit them while their mom is working, then they babysit Caleb while I am at school. What wonderful friends they are to us! Emily and Stephanie absolutely love spending time with Caleb, he is their real live dolly. They are always saying that he is so cute and he is so fun and he is so handsome. I do admit that I agree 100%

Shopping, Cousins, and Snow

Last weekend Devin went hunting with his friends, so I had a chance to go into town to do some shopping. I got Caleb a play gym (pictured many times above) and he is really liking it :) I also did some Christmas shopping before the crowds.
Sunday was the primary program in our ward, so I got to help our primary class say their parts while Devin sat with a sleeping Caleb. We had cousins over, Rodney's family from Idaho Falls. They dropped by to share some potatoes that they had gleaned and they helped to break in some of Caleb's new toys. We are so glad that they could come for a short visit.
This morning we woke up to snow on our cars and on the ground. I wish I could say that I am excited for snow and colder weather, but I am not. We have already started burning a fire during the day time, which means that it is cold! I wish I could say that this is Caleb's first snow, but it snowed on his birthday, so I don't know how correct that would be...Moving forward right?

Conference Weekend

We spent Conference weekend in Utah with my family. Everyone was gald to have turns with Caleb, and happy to hear the words of prophets as we listened together. My mom went all the way serving a turkey dinner, complete with mashed potatoes, rolls, and a salad! It was also fun to meet Sarah's roommates that came to see conference with us! Also my grandpa and gramma were there as well as my uncle Jonnie and his family. Caleb and Jonnie's son Janson got to spend a few moments with someone their own size ;) I say a few moments because everyone else was constantly wanting to hold the two of them...What a fun weekend!!!
