In My Pretty Garden

In my pretty garden the flowers are nodding. I think so anyway.
This is my new planting box that Devin and I built last Tuesday while Caleb was napping. On top there are 3 tomato plants, 2 bell peppers, and 1 start from my mom. The bottom row has Thyme from my mom and petunias.

This picture shows my double row of peas (you have to look close, they are barely coming in), my mint, and the grass coming in :)

This is my strawberry box, Shasta Daisies, and more grass coming in. On the other side of the deck, by the stairs are more petunias and some snap dragons.

Devin and I have been busy. I am hoping to get a good crop of peas this fall, and maybe some tomatoes and peppers as well. Most of all I hope that all of the blasted weeding will be worth it. I spent Caleb's entire morning nap today out in the yard.

Old Toy - New Tricks

This has long been a favorite toy of Caleb's. However, usually I stack the rings on then Caleb takes them off. Today Caleb was very happy with himself for figuring out how to put the rings on himself. It kept him entertained for a long long time. He hasn't figured out yet that the big ones have to go first. That may take awhile...Maybe I am just his mommy, but I think that it is way cute! You gotta love that face! Doesn't he just look pleased with himself?

Caleb's 1st Birthday

Yes indeed, my little boy has turned 1!! I made the cake, I thought it turned out cute, but then I am a little biased...Caleb wasn't quite as scared of the cake this time ;)

These are all of the friends and family that came to celebrate with us.

Caleb is not sure what to do with the cake, except dump it off of the plate.

Here we are breaking in the new birthday toys. Janice and her boys got that super cool train track set for Caleb, what fun! Caleb has been enjoying taking apart the tracks.

I can hardly believe that my baby is 1, life happens so fast. We are sure proud of our little Caleb. He keeps us smiling. Happy Birthday 1-year-old!

Fly Away Home

Caleb and I just returned from a week-long trip to my mom's house :) Sadly Devin had to stay in Rexburg because of school...We did lots, so here are just a few highlights of the week:

My brother Preston finished high school! Graduation, in a classy orange robe!

Celebrating at a Thai Food restaurant. Grandma and Grandpa Smurthwaite were there as well as Nana.

Breanna and Caleb helped Grandpa Smurthwaite break in the new yard with putting practice. We are so excited that Great Grandma and Grandpa bought a house in South Jordan, now we can see them more often! Hip hip!

Above is the remains of a tea party we had on Monday. Delightful that.
Last, but not least, the night before departure Aunts Lynzee and Breanna wanted to have a practice turning 1 celebration. Caleb didn't like it much. Better luck tomorrow I hope. After 6 weeks of trying to teach Caleb how to blow he still didn't know how when it came to blowing out his candle. I know I know, what a ridiculous thing to make a big deal out of...
